Holidays are coming!!!!
Last Christmas I tried to keep it small, after all, he wouldn’t remember it anyway. This year he is running and enjoying the family activities more and more and I want this year to be super special! I really just love the Holidays, cool crisp days, freezing nights and maybe the occasional light snow…YEAH RIGHT! More like heavy snow, cold winds and brown slush covered streets. But I do love every moment of the end of the year. We’ve been through a lot this year, and I want to top it off with a star on the tree!
I have super low income, and as we all know, the cost of living is high. I am starting my Christmas shopping this Friday. Here is the plan:
I use instapaper.com as a go to for one big universal wish list. As I browse the internet I just click a button in my toolbar and it saves the page to my account on instapaper.com. From there I have categories; Bear, Tim, Nana, Popy & Aunty. I now have a list of ideas on what to get each person – so easy!
The idea is to hunt for sales between now and Christmas to avoid Black Friday shopping – with a Toddler that sounds like a nightmare! (Hugs to all the moms out there who do it) I’m hoping to be able to pace myself and buy 1 item per week so I don’t overwhelm myself with debt.
Here are a few of the items I plan to get my Tot!
Tool set by GreenToys.com as well as some of their trucks
Construction plate at spoonsisters.com
A play camera since he shows interest in mine.
A toy chest from the local unfinished furniture shop.

What are you getting your little ones for Christmas??

I am having the hardest time resisting the urge to shop for my munchkin even though she doesn't know what's going on.
ReplyDeleteIn September, we bought a family membership to the zoo as her Christmas present. I paid for it out of our savings and then repaid savings a little bit each month since then. It's great and good for an entire year!
I've also been combing Craigslist for large hand-me-downs like play houses or a trike (possibly save those for the 2nd bday). I like your idea of the toy camera. Kahlan loves my camera.
